Cradle Mountain, Tasmania
We visited Cradle Mountain in November of 2001 during a tour of Tasmania.
We spent a couple of days at the north end of the
Cradle Mt
- Lake St Clair National Park and we were fortunate to have good weather.
We walked around Dove Lake, which meets the base of the mountain.
It is a fantastically scenic area and I highly recommend it to anyone.
Due to its altitude (the peak is at 1545m above sea level) it should be visited in different seasons
to experience its changing spirit, from autumn folliage to winter snow.
I wish to return one day.
Another significant attraction is the 6-8 day overland trail to Lake St Clair, for those with a little energy.
