Mount Kosciuszko National Park
In early Decmber of 2001 we spent a few days at the highest peak on the Australian mainland (2229m),
Kosciuszko
National Park.
Its probably the only place here where you would see snow in summer
(admittedly this was early summer and the remnant patches would soon be melted away).
We stayed in the camp grounds at the base of the mountain (in Jindabyne) where the Eastern Grey Kangaroo are friendly
(there's a photo of them outside our cabin).
The first day was clear and mainly sunny and it was fortunate we picked this to go to the summit.
The next day was rain and the final day was showery.
I decided not to go to the summit the first day, thinking there would be another chance.
I however do not regret it as I quite enjoyed Blue Lake, probably Asutralias highest lake.
I spent about an hour there and during that time didn't see another soul.
Note that the spelling has been changed from the long-standing previous Kosciusko.
